ABOUT THE PROJECT
Advanced detection and early warning system for cross-border CBRN threats across Europe.
INTEGRA-CBRN is a European initiative aimed at strengthening preparedness and response to cross-border CBRN threats through an integrated early-warning and proactive decision-making system. The project combines interoperable detection technologies, heterogeneous sensors and multi-source data to improve early detection, situational awareness and coordination among first responders and authorities. Bringing together 15 partners from Europe and Morocco, INTEGRA-CBRN seeks to establish a harmonised, scalable and replicable CBRN response framework across Europe..
From technology to real-world CBRN scenarios
UC#1 — Biological Threat
Early Warning at a Major Sporting Event
Madrid, Spain · FIFA World Cup
Early detection of a biological threat during a major football event, validating rapid alerting, information sharing and coordinated evacuation procedures across national and cross-border response teams.
Threat: Anthrax / Biological
Cross-border: Morocco · Portugal
UC#2 — Chemical & Radiological
Cross-Border Response to a Landfill Incident
Zohor, Slovakia
Detection and coordinated response to a landfill fire involving chemical and radiological hazards, integrating sensor networks, C2 systems, autonomous platforms and cross-border emergency response.
Threat: Chemical · Radiological
Cross-border: Austria · Hungary
UC#3 — Biological Threat
Two complementary scenarios will validate early biological detection and coordinated emergency response during high-density international events, including the FIFA World Cup and the Mawazine Festival.
Threat: Anthrax / Biological
Cross-border: Spain · Portugal
UC#4 — Radiological Threat
AI-Enhanced Surveillance in Cross-Border Transport
Brussels, Belgium · Calais, France
AI-assisted detection of a covert radiological release aboard an international passenger train, combining real-time monitoring, anomaly detection and coordinated cross-border decision-making.
Threat: Caesium-137 / Radiological
Cross-border: France · United Kingdom · Netherlands
