IBATECH, together with its Romanian partner Defence Guard, has signed a framework agreement with the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) of Romania for a programme valued at up to €19 million, aimed at strengthening the country’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) preparedness and response capabilities. The agreement has the potential to deliver up to 90 deployable CBRN systems across Romania.
Strengthening Europe's CBRN resilience
The programme forms part of the European Union’s rescEU initiative, which seeks to reinforce CBRN detection, monitoring and emergency response capabilities across Member States. The deployable systems will support the protection of critical infrastructures, command posts, temporary camps and emergency operations by providing real-time situational awareness and hazardous dispersion prediction.
A fully integrated operational solution
The solution developed by IBATECH, ERDA-CBRN (Deployable CBRN Remote Alarm Station), integrates multiple technologies into a single operational platform, including:
- Chemical, biological and radiological detection
- Meteorological monitoring
- Secure communications
- Command and control
- Hazard dispersion prediction
- Deployable monitoring networks
Designed for rapid deployment, the platform enables emergency services to establish distributed CBRN monitoring networks capable of delivering reliable information for operational decision-making.
A milestone for IBATECH
This programme represents one of IBATECH’s most significant international contracts to date and reinforces the company’s position as a trusted European partner in the design and integration of mission-critical CBRN technologies.
By combining advanced sensing, communications and systems engineering, IBATECH continues to deliver operational capabilities that enhance resilience, situational awareness and the protection of people, assets and critical infrastructures.
